The Challenge
Oxford City Council employs around 500 people across different departments. Members of various teams encounter residents in the city daily and can often be the first people to recognise well-being risks to individuals and families.
Before implementing MyConcern, different teams had different methods of managing safeguarding concerns. This led to inconsistent reporting and meant that at times Safeguarding Leads weren’t alerted to concerns. It was difficult to communicate the benefits of having centrally recorded information and to encourage teams to engage with the reporting process.

The Solution - MyConcern
Oxford Council wanted a system which would improve the overall standard of safeguarding in the area and allow staff to record safeguarding information accurately and securely. After searching for solutions online, they found MyConcern to be the simplest, most user-friendly option. They now use MyConcern to record any action they have taken in relation to safeguarding their residents.
"Using MyConcern has created a proactive safeguarding culture and allowed us to improve the standard of safeguarding both internally and externally."

Implementing MyConcern
By using MyConcern, the Safeguarding Team have been able to drive staff engagement through visual displays of aggregated data generated within the system.
Valuable insight has also been gained by the ability to see which teams are regularly reporting concerns. Teams in Oxford City Council are even using MyConcern to record intelligence on modern slavery and identify locations which present a risk of modern slavery
