Information Sharing: Separating Fact from Fiction
Mike Glanville, our Director of Safeguarding Services and former senior Police Officer will be holding a free webinar ‘Information Sharing: Separating Fact from Fiction’ to support schools, colleges and other organisations through some common information sharing misunderstandings.
From our regular contact with schools and colleges at MyConcern, we recognise that very often some staff can lack confidence when it comes to sharing information under GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 and that this is a challenging issue for schools to manage. This webinar aims to bust some of the myths around information sharing and to provide some helpful advice and guidance on common issues experienced by staff.
‘Information Sharing: Separating Fact from Fiction’ will equip safeguarding leads, senior leadership and other members of staff with clear advice, knowledge and expertise. It will enable them to know with confidence where they stand with information sharing and child protection.
This webinar is free to attend and will be taking place at both 12pm and 3:30pm on 16th January 2019.
Key Points Which Will Be Covered:
- A summary of the latest guidance and the legislation relating to information sharing
- Guidance on what staff need to be thinking about when they are sharing information, particularly with other agencies
- An explanation of ‘special category data’ in the context of safeguarding and its implications for the sharing of information
- The Seven Golden Rules to sharing information and how that supports staff
