Our Safeguarding Credentials
MyConcern is Built Around Safeguarding Guidance and Best Practice
MyConcern has been designed and built around core safeguarding legislation and guidance to ensure that is completely fit-for-purpose and can exactly match the growing needs of safeguarding practitioners. We closely examine documents such as Keeping Children Safe in Education and work to continually improve our product, this is a large part of what guides our product development. A new addition to Keeping Children Safe 2018 was the importance of contextual safeguarding, which is why you can now tag locations attached to concerns or incidents in MyConcern.
Guided By A Team Of Experienced Safeguarding Consultants
We implicitly understand the challenges and pressures facing safeguarding practitioners and are much more than just a software company. The safety of children and young people is at the heart of everything we do. Our trusted team of specialist consultants support and guide those involved with safeguarding. They use their experience and knowledge from their own backgrounds in education, social care and policing to help develop MyConcern.
Created By Former Senior Police Officers With Over 60 Years Of Safeguarding Experience
MyConcern has been designed by professionals for professionals. Two of our founding Directors (Martin Baker QPM and Mike Glanville) are former Senior Police Officers with over 60 years of experience in safeguarding and child protection. They are also current school governors, so have a deep understanding of the requirements facing organisations with regards to safeguarding.
Martin Baker QPM (CEO)
Martin Baker served in both uniform and detective roles in five UK police forces (including the Metropolitan Police). Areas he covered during his career included anti-terrorism and homicide, as well as safeguarding and child protection. He was also responsible for managing the risks posed by violent and sexual offenders living in the community.
In 2006, Martin was awarded HM The Queen’s Medal for Distinguished Police Service (QPM).
