Staff dealing with safeguarding issues tell us that one of the most irritating and time-consuming issues is searching for national guidance, local policies and finding the right forms to use when referring cases to other agencies (“is this the latest version?”). Consequently, we provide within MyConcern a number of resources that are available 24/7 to all users:
- National Guidance – we provide all relevant DfE guidance, Ofsted inspection frameworks and other important reference material. There is also a link to the ‘gov.uk’ portal to facilitate further research if required.
- Case Reviews – we also maintain a library of Case Reviews containing issues that may be relevant to practitioners in education, together with abstracts and summaries of the longer reports. These are drawn from Serious Case Reviews in England and Child Practice Reviews in Wales. There is also a link to the NSPCC’s UK library of Case Reviews.
- Local Policies – this area of MyConcern is controlled locally. This enables each nursery/school/college to maintain it’s own library of local policies, Local Safeguarding Children’s Board (LSCB) guidance, and template forms (e.g. for referrals to other agencies) so that staff always have access to the latest versions.
